Goodbye Thanksgiving, Hello Christmas!!

Well Thanksgiving is behind us and all those lucky Turkeys that are still gobblin around will live another year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is getting ready for the next one coming............or are you yet?

Gene and I have entered the age old battle......when do we start decorating and listening to christmas music?????? Well I of course being the holiday loving lady I am, am ready to start the festivities. I understand no Christmas music before Thanksgiving and all that but, as soon as the dishes are done baby, bring on the Jingle Bells!! Gene however, isn't so keen on the idea. I pondered this for a moment wondering what kind of Grinch that stole Christmas was I living with here?!

Now don't get me wrong, Gene doesn't hate Christmas, as a matter of fact he is the most giving person I've ever met, especially around the holidays. He just isn't quite ready to deck the halls. We discussed this and he thought a real tree would be nice and if we did that we couldn't decorate until a week before Christmas!! There are some problems here, we have two sweet and adorable cats (Gene may describe them differently) and they like to climb Christmas trees, if it were real we would have sap everywhere, not to mention the needles and UG no way. Sorry sweets no can do. I already have an artificial tree so we wouldn't have to spend money on a tree if we went with the fake one, plus decorate only a week before Christmas?!

So we are going with the fake tree and now we have to decide when to put it all up???? I say now, Gene says in a couple weeks. Now I'm the pouty Christmas kid. We need some help here. Suggestions?????

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and has already figured out when the Christmas season really starts.

Thanksgiving Fun!!!

Well it's almost that time again, time to eat, drink, eat, be merry and eat. I thought, to get everyone in the Thanksgiving spirit, I would post a few Thanksgiving fun facts.

Did you know..........................
  • Fossil evidence shows that turkeys roamed the Americas 10 million years ago.
  • Thomas Jefferson thought the concept of Thanksgiving was "the most ridiculous idea I’veever heard."
  • Here's one of the most unbelievable Thanksgivng facts: The Guinness Book of Records states that the greatest dressed weight recorded for a turkey is 39.09 kg (86 lbs), at the annual "heaviest turkey" competition held in London, England on December 12, 1989.
  • More than 40 million green bean casseroles are served on Thanksgiving. (Maybe try out another side dish this year.)
  • The different nicknames for Thanksgiving Day: “Turkey Day” (after the traditional Thanksgiving dinner), “T-Day” (an abbreviation of either “Thanksgiving Day” or “Turkey Day”), “Macy’s Day (this is exclusive to New York City – it is a reference to the Macy’s Day Parade), “Yanksgiving” (Canadians sometimes call the Thanksgiving in the US as “Yanksgiving” to distinguish it from the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday.)
  • The First Thanksgiving lasted for three days. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I WOULD EXPLODE!)
  • Here's one of those funny Thanksgiving facts: Turkeys have heart attacks. When the Air Force was conducting test runs and breaking the sound barrier, fields of turkeys would drop dead.
  • A spooked turkey can run at speeds up to 20 miles per hour. They can also burst into flight approaching speeds between 50-55 mph in a matter of seconds. (Granted it doesn't have a heart attack first)
These facts came from . Hope this kick starts your Thanksgiving excitement!!!!

It's a tradition at Itransact to have Crepe Day around or on Holidays. So today the Crepe Father hosted Crepe-o-ween. It's pretty much an excuse to hang out with co-workers for the first hour or more of work and feast on delicious crepes. At this years Crepe-O-ween we were honored with the presence of The Crepe Father, his monk, and a Duff Beer........?

We also were graced by not one by TWO joe the plumbers............

My good buddy Torrey was um, a college student with a full time job...............wait a minute!

And I was a WITCH! Eh it was easy and I didn't have time this week to be creative.

I hope you enjoyed our Crepe-O-ween, I bet you woulda liked it more if you were here but you're not so MORE CREPES FOR ME!!! Oh and by the way, the pics came out kinda weird blurry, maybe it was a ghost!!! MUAH HA HA HA HA!!!!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday after church Gene said that he needed some alone time to go shopping for my b-day, he said he already knew what he was getting me so I didn't think it would take him long. Well he left at 1:30 and by 4:30 I still hadn't seen nor heard from him. Hmmmm. I called him and told him my mom was expecting us for dinner at 5:30 and he didn't know if he was going to make it on time. At this point I'm thinking, where in the heck did he go? He's be gone all dang day. Well when we got to my mom's he said that he wasn't able to get what he wanted to get me, apparently they didn't have it in. Well after dinner was over and we were all getting ready to go home. My sister asked him if he wanted her to get that thing out of her car for him. She brought in two pink presents. Gene, of course, wanted me to open it right then. After a bit of discussion among the family on whether or not I should open my presents two days early we decided to go for it and I'm glad we did!!

I've never had a designer bag in my life! That cute little wallet next to the bag is also a day planner pretty snazzy! I was pretty excited about it all, and then he told me that he was gone all day because he'd gone all the way to Park City to get it. He's such a sweet heart.

The Kitties

So here are my kitties

This is Makita hindering progress. He is laying on Gene's blueprints for work. Rest assured that out of all the places to lay in the entire house a cat will lay where it is most inconvenient, (really I think they want to lay where they are closest to their owners, I'm pretty sure Makita is just being trying to make Gene mad here though.)

This is Kelty and Makita sleeping together. They are so cute when they are sleeping and not trying to terrorize the world.

Us as cartoons

So here is Gene and I as a caricature. Pretty close I think!! This was done at the fantastical Roy Days! My stepmom said that she could tell it was me by the time he was done with only my eyes. When he finished and signed his name to the bottom Vickie (my stepmom) recognized his name. They talked for a few minutes and.....turns out she went to Davis High school with the artist! SMALL WORLD!!!

Well I'm finally blogging. I'm pretty sure I've left no stone unturned when it comes to figuring out where I am and what I'm doing. I think I'm going to forego the Myspace though, I can't keep up with everything.'s what's new. Gene is the boyfriend and he and I just moved back to Utah from Colorado about a month ago. So far so good. We are both loving our jobs and I know I'm loving being closer to family. About Gene, he's 28 and originally from Philly. He's only been out of PA for a couple years now so he still has the accent and it's pretty cute. He's getting used to Utah but coming from Philadelphia it's a bit of a culture shock to say the least!

Anyway, we are renting in Kaysville for the time being, and hoping to buy a house in the near future (cross your fingers). We'll see how it goes. Oh and my little sis is having a baby in January and I can not wait!!! I'm pretty dang excited for little Croix. Well I guess that's about it for right now. I'll write soon.
Love ya'll.
